BitTorrent For DummiesFirst and The Most effective way to increase speed is using Vuze instead of any other torrent client.
Other Ways:-
There are some Setting in torrent Client that you need to change to Increase your download Speed. Some of the setting(with value) are listed below.
  • Torrent Download and upload Speed:-
    1. Go to Options > Preferences in your utorrent Client.
    2. Click Bandwidth option as shown below.
      Utorrent preference window setting
    3. Here put zero for both max. upload rate and max. download rate.
  • Port:-
    1. Go to connection option from the same window as shown above.
change port on utorrent using connection in preference
    2. Press random Port option as shown above to change your port.
      Note:-
The concept behind changing port is that sometimes your isp may block your torrent ports(active torrents port) so it is good to change your port at regular interval.
  • Increase TCP Connection:-
    1. Download patch from here.
    2. Open this file in cmd(open cmd and then run it from there).
      NOTE:-

      1. This will increase the limit of no. of connection that you can make. this is for windows xp sp2.
      2. This setting require restart of computer so restart your computer after you have applied all the these settings.
  • Increase Tracker(Most Effective):-
    1. First, download Tracker list from here.
    2. Now Go to property of the torrent having slow download speed(right click the torrent in utorrent).
property window on utorrent file for increasing trackers
    3. Now in the box highlighted above past content of file just downloaded.
    4. Make sure "Enable DHT" and "Peer Exchange" and "Local peer Discovery" are checked.
    5. Press OK.
NOTE:-make sure you do not include more than 10 tracker for a single torrent.
  • Make Continues Connection with Internet
    1. Make a Batch file(bat extension) with Ping to 192.168.1.1(router/modem) address with unlimited time
      OR
Download file from here. and then change extension from mp3 to bat.
    2. Start this file whenever you starts your torrent application.
      NOTE:-
I have realized that whenever i excess my internet my torrent download speed remain up but once i go somewhere else or go for sleep speed goes down.

therefore i made this cmd command to make my torrent client realize that i m working. i can't explain why this is happening but this is working very well on my PC.
  • Tips:-
    1. Right click torrent in utorrent and press Update Tracker.
    2. Press Force download on torrent required first.
    3. Right click torrent required first then go to Bandwidth allocation>high.
    4. Use Vuze(BitTorrent Client) Instead of any other BitTorrent Client because it somehow give high speed.        <<--Effective

How Do I Forward Internet Port(Port Forwarding)?

Introduction:-
Port forwarding refers to opening of closed port so that two or more application over internet can communicate with each other. You can think port as the way through which an application can communicate/reach to you that' why we need port 80 for http page telnet for 23 and ftp for 21.

Port forwarding for different modem/router is different but the theme remain the same in most modem/router.

WAY ONE
:-
  • Steps for port forwarding:-
  1. Go to your browser and type 192.168.1.1(default page for router/modem setting).
  2. In here type the username and password(commonly it is set to admin, admin).
NOTE:- in case username and password is not admin then you can see it on the backside of your router/modem or can call your service provider.
  3. Now you will see the home page of your router in here click advanced link.
  4. in advanced page click port forwarding link which will take you to the page which is similar to the page shown below
    port forwarding forum of router/modem
the page which you see above is present in almost all router/modem in addition to this some routers also provide you to forward ports directly for some common services like website(at 80), telnet(at 23), smtp(at 25) and many more.
    In here type
    • rule name :- any thing
    • protocol:- depending on port to forward(generally tcp/udp)
    • port start:-port to farward
    • port end:-same as port start
    • port map:- same as port start.
  5. Now apply the change and save all the setting so that after resetting your modem/router your setting remain the same.
WAY TWO:-

  • In case you are not able to forward port using the above defined technique or not able to find port forwarding link:-
  1. Go to google, yahoo or whatever search engine you use.
  2. Now in search box type port forwarding "company name of router/modem" "model no." To search the article regarding port forwarding for your router.
  3. In case you don't Understand the second point OR not able to search the article for your router then go to portforwarding.com and check some other router of the same company as your router for help.
NOTE:-If even now you are not able to forward your ports then ask your ISP to do it for you.
